Porking Out
One of the best meals we had at the NINC conference was at the Habana Cafe in Gulfport, Florida. It was incredible! Most of us had the lechon asado which is a Cuban pork dish with flavors I’d never tasted before. The restaurant sells a cookbook full of its recipes. Yum!
Here I am with my fellow porkers. Clockwise from the front: Harlequin Enterprises executive editor Marsha Zinberg, and novelists Julie Compton, Emilie Richards, Sylvie Kurtz, Charlotte Hubbard, Ann Roth, me and Jasmine Creswell.
Now I’m going to order that cookbook!
What a wonderful group of people to enjoy dinner with Diane!
I bet you were thrilled to meet up with your friend and fellow author Emilie Richards.
I can just imagine the great conversation going on over the dinner table. (-O:
margo it WAS great to spend time with Emilie and so many other friends I haven’t seen in years. rejuvenating!
Diane, here’s a web version that looks good while you’re waiting for the Habana Cafe cookbook. I’ve put the Three Guys from Miami cookbooks on my wish list for Xmas. They’ve also got a fabulous recipe for black beans on this site. Can’t wait to try them.
And it was, of course, great to be with you and John!

Oh that sounds GOOD, Emilie! And much less complicated than the one from the Habana Cafe. I’ll give it a try. Those guys remind me of Click and Clack on Car Talk.
When my son lived at Miami Beach-I loved loved Cuban food-even without meat…yummmmm….looks like you had a great time.
Love Emilie R. Love Ann Roth books-Harlequin…she has a great great websites-esp. the recipes…
Going to check out Ann’s website right now.
