Name that Newsletter!

name newsletter.jpgI’m getting ready to create my next online newsletter, since some of you have told me you’d like to hear from me more than once or twice a year. Yes, I’ve been a little slow getting the news out! Now that many of my older books are being reissued, I agree that I need to communicate with those of you on my mailing list more frequently.

Therefore, I plan to design a unique newsletter that I can send out easily a few times a year. It will contain updates on my latest books, contests, appearances, and any other information I think will benefit my readers. But it needs a name! For example, I recently received Sue Monk Kidd’s lovely newsletter, which she calls Reflections–a name that suits her writing perfectly. I have my thinking cap on, but I know y’all have amazing thinking caps yourselves (I will never forget how you helped me name the island in my work-in-progress!), so I thought I’d turn to you for some suggestions.

If I use your idea, I’ll send you autographed copies of my two latest books, Before the Storm and Secrets She Left Behind, made out to you or a friend. Thanks for your help! (If you’re not already signed up to receive my newsletter, hop on over and sign up now.)

I like Robyn’s Diane’s Dispatch…I do think your name should be in it some way…News from Diane would be fine also…nothing cutesy…

Thanks for the ideas, Robyn. Putting them in my idea bank! Brenda, I’m thinking along the line of “Diane Chamberlain’s ________________”. Or “_____________, a newsletter from Diane Chamberlain”. I’ll work my name in there some way!

We have a company holiday today and I’m also taking vacation time Mon so am just now reading this…I’m going to think on a name this weekend Diane.
We were originally going to Clear Lake for a long weekend but the weather is awful…terrible thunderstorms and rain at the Lake so we’re postponing the trip…also, temps tomorrow will be somewhere between 103-110 degrees!!…Yikes!!…we decided tomorrow to go to JULIE AND JULIA at the theatre and be in air-conditioning. (-O:
I’m glad you’re starting up the newsletter Diane…

Diane Chamberlain’s “Words in Print” 😛 (WIP)
I’m sitting at work, trying to find something to do until next assessment (*knock on wood* don’t get me wrong, I kinda like the break ;)) So forgive me if it sounds kiddish (I work with kids ALL day)
SO happy there’s going to be a newsletter!

I usually don’t put in my 2 cents when it comes to creativity, I leave it to the professionals 🙂

All your ideas are getting me thinking. Right now, I’m going in a slightly different direction in my thinking:
    The Next Chapter
    Notes from Carolina
    The Page Turner.
    Still thinking!

I vote for something simple like “News from Diane Chamberlain” or “Update from Diane Chamberlain” or “Highlights from Diane Chamberlain.” I don’t care for “cutesy” newsletter titles.

  14. Diane Chamberlain on August 10, 2009 at 1:28 pm

You have a good point, Ingrid. Maybe I need to give the creative side of my brain a rest and go with something simple!

  15. brenda on August 10, 2009 at 7:39 pm

    I agree-nothing cutesy-just forthright-it is not fiction-it is a newsletter.

  16. Diane Chamberlain on August 13, 2009 at 5:57 pm

Thanks for your help, everyone. Ingrid and Brenda swayed me. I’m calling my newsletter. . . drum roll, please. . . “Diane Chamberlain’s Newsletter.”

  17. […] first thing you’ll notice is the new header. Remember when I was trying to come up with a name for my newsletter? I was brainstorming with John and came up with “The Secret Life of Diane Chamberlain” […]
