Sneak Peek!

SSLB-web-w-o-MAK-quote.jpgI know the release of Secrets She Left Behind is still months away (last week of May), but I wanted to give you a sneak peek at the cover. I love it! Love the colors and the evocative mood. Secrets She Left Behind is the sequel to Before the Storm, but will easily stand alone for readers unfamiliar with the first book.

What do you think?

Diane, just curious. Will the book be coming out in soft cover like BTS.

  5. Gina on January 4, 2009 at 11:50 am

Diane, I’ve copied the book cover and pasted on my book forum for others to see. Hope that’s okay?

Gina, thank you for sharing the cover with others! And yes, it will be in trade paperback, like Before the Storm.

Trade Paperback opens the doors to many who don’t buy hardbacks-like my students…I remember telling a woman in NYC about BEFORE THE STORM…she was picking up a book to read on the plane…I am not sure where we were-some bookstore…she bought it…thrilled me…

It’s gorgeous! And who is the mysterious “she” going to be!! The obvious answer would be Laurel, but I have several other guesses, barring the obvious. 🙂

Ahhhh, it’s gorgeous. The expression on her face is perfect with the title, but the colors are what grab me. Very eye-catching and very cruel that we have to wait.

  10. Denise on January 4, 2009 at 10:24 pm

Wow, that is beautiful!!!! I’m thrilled with it.

I don’t think I can wait till the end of May. Isn’t there a way that your most loyal, supportive and of course adoring fans can get an advanced copy?
Well I thought it was worth a try.

  12. Denise on January 4, 2009 at 11:12 pm

    Good try, Ronnie! Lol

Oh Diane, I LOVE IT!!…everyone has said exactly what I feel…colors are wonderful, very intriguing woman, what is she thinking, etc…..you know, I think the covers on your books just keep getting better and better.
LOL Ronnie!…as it is, I’m reserving my copy at Border’s as soon as possible…they will call me the day it arrives at the store & I can get it that day.

My quess is that the young woman on the cover is Maggie…

  15. Diane Chamberlain on January 5, 2009 at 12:16 pm

I’m so glad you like the cover! I think it’s a stunner. I will tell you who the “she” is; it won’t give anything away, though it may really confuse you. The young woman on the cover is indeed Maggie, but the “she” in the title actually refers to Sara (Keith’s mother), just to make you crazy! They both have significant roles in the story. (and Andy has a girlfriend!)

  16. Margo on January 5, 2009 at 12:39 pm

Oh, I can’t wait Diane!…all along I assumed the ‘she’ in the title referred to Maggie…now you REALLY have me intrigued!

I will definitely make the hour and half trek to get this book. I also like the cover.

  18. Gina on January 5, 2009 at 3:48 pm

    Aww…Andy has a girlfriend? How sweet….

  19. ronnie on January 5, 2009 at 4:24 pm

If I commit to buying a dozen copies can I get more information?
    Still trying……..

I am excited also. There is a boy at my high school that loves me so much..and I love him. He is one of twins…his brother is fine…popular, etc…graduated already. My dear boy is not…he is in a special class. His class is across the hall from the office I use when I am not in a classroom…(I don’t have one…another story…) Anyway, he is so sweet and has touched my heart. His grandma was one of my teachers long ago..his granddad a principal-they are deceased. For Christmas, I got this young man a hat from his favorite college-he couldn’t believe it…one Friday night a month, the special kids work in a local restaurant–the restaurant gives a portion of proceeds to the class for what they might need at school…I go on that Friday night even though it is not my favorite place. HE loves to get me my Diet Coke, etc…he reminds me of Andy in that he is so loving and dear…HE WENT to the CHRISTMAS DANCE…just a loving young man…I am eager to read about Maggie…Andy’s girl friend…and THE woman with the secrets…Not only do these two books entertain, they send a message to the readers…for that, I am eternally thankful to you, Diane…

    Ronnie, you’re cracking me up!
Brenda, I know kids like that. They inspired “my” Andy, for sure.

  22. Gina on January 5, 2009 at 5:39 pm

    Ronnie! LOL!!

  23. Denise on January 5, 2009 at 8:54 pm

Diane? Is this going to be a “Mrs. Robinson” story (aka that Andy is daing Sara)? Lol

  24. Diane Chamberlain on January 5, 2009 at 9:29 pm

Denise!! Ack! I think those post-surgical pain meds have gone to your head!

  25. Margo on January 6, 2009 at 8:26 am

You all have me laughing out loud this morning!
Brenda, your story of the young boy is so touching…what a wonderful friend you are to him.

  26. Denise on January 7, 2009 at 10:24 pm
