The Midwife has Arrived

Nine months almost to the day after I began writing the story, The Midwife’s Confession is finally in bookstores. The labor (which I chronicled in agonizing detail in my blog) was unusually long and hard, but now all the angst is forgotten and I get to celebrate a milestone: the publication of my 20th novel! (For those of you who want to purchase Midwife as an e-book, you’ll have to wait a few more days. It will be on sale May 1st).

The Midwife’s Confession is a puzzle to be solved–by the reader as well as by the characters. While it’s a story of deep friendships, it’s also filled with mystery and suspense. I absolutely can’t wait to hear what you all think of it! Here’s the trailer John created for it.

On my website, you can find an interview with me about The Midwife’s Confession, along with an excerpt, a Book Club Guide and reviews. I’ll be doing an online booksigning from April 28th-May 7 and I’ll post the link here on the 28th. I hope you’ll sign up to receive a bookplate or, better yet, join me at one of my North Carolina events.

Enjoy!

Diane, started the book last nite…can hardly put it down!…I love it!…the words, the descriptions, the suspense…fabulous!!…I’m a slow reader on purpose…I love feeling the moments and the sense of place. Ann…will you be attending a book signing of Diane’s at Topsail?

  13. Ann Rierson on April 28, 2011 at 7:47 pm

Margo, I don’t think she is doing a signing while I am there.

  14. Diane Chamberlain on April 28, 2011 at 8:46 pm

I’ll be doing a signing in Topsail in early June. Ann, I think you and I will be passing each other this weekend as you arrive and I leave! We’re getting the nasty weather out of the way for you.

Received the book (pre-ordered from Amazon) in the mail Wednesday! Have already read a few chapter — can’t wait to get back to it — soon! I have all of your books, most of them in hardback. Loaned a few through the years that I didn’t get back so had to replace them from EBAY!! Lesson learned. Keeper of the Lights still my favorite so far.

Diane, I love crossing the bridge coming onto the island and it is always hard to leave!
Hope your visit was a good one!
Am looking forward to reading your book there.
