Win a Copy of The Good Father

Guess what arrived today? That’s right—my author’s copies of The Good Father! My copies came a little late this year and I was getting nervous. I had to flip through the book to be sure all the pages were there, along with the discussion questions and the interview with me about the book. Everything is Β there, along with this little doll on the cover. You can’t buy the book until April 24th (although it can be preordered, of course), so how about I give a couple of these early copies away? Just leave a comment, either here or on the related Facebook post, telling me why you’d like to have a copy of The Good Father, and I’ll randomly select two winners (anywhere in the world!) from all commenters on Wednesday night, 11pm, EST. Good luck!

Well, I can’t say that I’ve read all of your books but I’m working on it, diligently. I’ve heard great things about this book and I can’t wait to read it. Thank you for the chance to win copy.

I lived in Cary, NC for almost 10 years. I had to leave a year ago and I miss NC with all my heart. Two things I discovered after I left, your books and alpacas. I love reading books that talk about the Outer Banks ( my favorite place in the world), you always take me there and that brings me comfort and joy. The same with my alpacas, they give me peace and lower my blood pressure. I just got 2 more alpacas and the only thing missing is your new book, The Good Father, which by the way, they were not going to buy at my local library. I gave them a piece of my mind and they ordered it!!!

I think you should pick me because I am a full time stay at home Mommy and I NEED your new book to relax and escape with at night! I love love love your writing. My husband has his golf and I have my books and I don’t have any new ones to read so please pick me!

  3. Prachi Lustgarten on April 10, 2012 at 11:22 pm

I cannot wait for this to come out! I have read almost every book you’ve written and even turned a bunch of my friends onto your book! This would be perfect to read to occupy me the end of my third trimester!

  4. Karla on April 10, 2012 at 11:23 pm

I think you should pick me because I’m currently in a bad book rut and need something good to stimulate my brain. I’ve read nearly everything all of my good authors have written (including you) and so I sit here anxiously waiting for the next good book by my short list of favorite authors.

  5. Connie Williamson on April 10, 2012 at 11:24 pm

I love the books of yours that I’ve read, but there are still a few that I haven’t read. And an early copy….well, that would really be cool to read one that nobody else is reading yet right then. Yes, pull my name, I would really appreciate that! πŸ™‚

  6. Debra Oates-Chambers on April 10, 2012 at 11:25 pm

I love your books! Please choose me. This sounds like a great book!

  7. Pamm on April 10, 2012 at 11:25 pm

I read and very much enjoy all of your books. Once I have finished with them I give them to my mother who also loves your work. I am looking forward to reading “The Good Father” soon!

  8. Wanda Zerangue on April 10, 2012 at 11:28 pm

I’ve read several of your books and have thoroughly enjoyed them. The synopsis of THE GOOD FATHER sounds really intriguing and I look forward to reading it. Thank you for the opportunity to win a copy.

  9. andrea on April 10, 2012 at 11:30 pm

How exciting to actually have the book in your hand!! Eeeek! Love it!

I can’t say that i deserve this more than anyone else, because i know you have a lot of loving and faithful fans! And that just makes me so so happy πŸ™‚ to know that other people get the same joy out of reading your books as i do.
I actually read The Good Father through NetGalley and reviewed on my blog Darkreaders a few weeks ago. What a great story! I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but you definitely don’t want to miss out on this novel!
Anyways i always tend to review books and then go out and buy them the day they come out or oreorder if i can. Unfortunately real life has taken a toll (not quite like the mc in TGF, thank goodness!) So reviewing becomes a priority along with RL … buying books that ive already read but LOVE get put on the back burner πŸ™ also… the books on Netgalley they delete after so many days which stinks but i understand why they have to do that.
Anyways, thank you Diane for writing such an impeccable and inspiring book! I loved the suspense that was added in TGF & the little girl just tugs at anyone’s heartstrings. Wishing you success and love on the release of your newest novel!
    ~a loyal fan

I was a total Daddy’s girl and this title makes me curious about the book! I LOVE this cover!

  11. Karen Musser on April 10, 2012 at 11:32 pm

I love to read and I am so thankful to have the ability to do so. Your books grab my attention and I would love to have a copy now. Hope you pick me.

  12. Whitney Baker on April 10, 2012 at 11:34 pm

I have read most of your books and everytime a new book comes out, I’m the first person in line to buy it!!! I can’t get enough of your writing style and no one elses realy can compare!! Can’t wait to read The Good Father!!!! Hope I win!!!

  13. Stacie on April 10, 2012 at 11:34 pm

I can not wait for this book to be available! I love all of your complex, multi-layered stories. The first time my five year old read to me was looking over my shoulder while I was reading The Bay at Midnight, so that is now my favorite! I am ready for your next amazing story to share pieces with him again since we both love your descriptions of the coast!

  14. Hailey on April 10, 2012 at 11:35 pm

I love love love love reading your books. The way you write, it makes me feel as if I know the characters. They’re real to me and I get clear pictures of what they look like and who they are in my mind. I would love to win a a copy of your latest book before it goes to stores because I feel as if this newest book of yours will be a hit. Instead of a woman being a single parent, it’s a single father raising a child. It shows that women and men are equals. From reading a description, it looks as if this book will make you laugh, cry and be able to read it over and over again. I’d be happy to win this book. πŸ™‚

  15. Loraine on April 10, 2012 at 11:36 pm

I have read some of your books and look forward to reading more. The ones I have read so far were excellent and I would love to get a copy for my birthday (which is today). Thank you for the opportunity to win a copy.

Diane I would love a chance to win a copy of this book. I love all your books. I can’t wait to read it… Thanks

  17. Tasha on April 10, 2012 at 11:43 pm

Well first of all, you are mine and my best friend’s FAVORITE author. We are always excited when we finish a DC book, as we call it, so we can dish about it. If one of us is reading a book the other hasn’t read yet, we HAVE to keep the other one posted on whats going on and where we are in the book. So, see if I won this book, I would sooooo have bragging rights that I WON it from the incredible DC herself and that’s just plain cool! πŸ˜‰

  18. Chantal on April 10, 2012 at 11:43 pm

I am so excited for The Good Father! I would love a copy of the book from you because I’m graduating with my Masters degree soon and once I’m done I plan to read, read, read!!! I haven’t had any time to do so while working on my degree and there is no better way to celebrate being done with school than with a book straight from one of my favorite authors! πŸ™‚

  19. Della B on April 10, 2012 at 11:44 pm

I would love to receive “The Good Father”. From the description of the book it sounds wonderful. Thank you for the chance.

I would love to read this book before anyone else!

  21. Amanda Patrick on April 10, 2012 at 11:58 pm

I would love to read this book before anyone else. I have almost all of your books and have read the ones I have. You’ve given me some good writing tips and I’d love to read this before anyone else and also give you fed back on how good it was, before anyone else. Thank you!!

  22. Sue Fernandez on April 10, 2012 at 11:59 pm

Because I sit and count the darn minutes until your books come out…then I go back, sort of obsessively, to Amazon, to see if, perhaps I’ve missed reading one…and alas…I haven’t…so, here I wait ; )

  23. Jan in TN on April 11, 2012 at 12:05 am

I’d love to be one of the first to read your new book. I have absolutely loved every book of yours that I’ve read. I am currecntly reading THE LIES WE TOLD.

  24. Audrey Bonnell on April 11, 2012 at 12:06 am

I would love to have a copy of The Good Father. I love all your books and have been waiting with bated breath till it comes out. You write with a flare that when I read your books it is like being right there. Not may authors have that talent. Thanks Diane for your fabulous books, PLEASE keep it up.

  25. Katie Saba on April 11, 2012 at 12:19 am

I’ve read some of your “old” books and some new ones and loved them all & I’m looking forward to The Good Father!

  26. Kim McCarthy on April 11, 2012 at 1:09 am

This is perfect! I’ve been wanting to drop you a note and tell you about my dad. He picked up one of the books that you had signed for my grandma and called me when he finished to tell me how much he enjoyed it. I told him I would gather up the ones I have on my bookshelf and bring them over and he said that would be good because he has a problem with getting your books at the library. I asked him what the problem was and he said all of your books are on the bottom shelf and he’s going to say something to the librarian because he’s convinced if your books were on a shelf that was closer to eye level, even more people would be able to find them and read them. I mentioned that they’re in alphabetical order, but he thinks you should have a shelf of your own. I’d love to have a special copy of one of your books to give him. (I’ll let you know if you get your own shelf at our library. ;)) -Kimmy

  27. Dawn Ball on April 11, 2012 at 1:21 am

Diane, I know that we have chatted about the advanced copy of The Good Father. It would mean the world to me to get a copy from you. I can not tell you how happy I am that I stumbled onto Before the Storm, that book (even though it was the sequel, as you told me) hooked me onto you as a top pick on my list of favorite authors. So winning a copy from you would just be amazing and make my day, or it would be a great 10yr wedding anniversary present for me, my hubby doesn’t need anything. πŸ™‚

  28. Sarah Rhiannon Jhnson on April 11, 2012 at 1:30 am

Well I can honestly say that I have read every one so far. I even felt a pang of disappointment when I came to the end of your Kiss River trilogy…. maybe another sequel is due on the cards?!!!

    Keep it up DIane!!

Oh wow Diane! How exciting for you to finally receive your own author copies! It must be amazing to open them up knowing you created a wonderful story that many people will enjoy reading. I know it will be because I am seriously addicted to your books since discovering The Midwives Confession in September last year & I am steadily working through your booklist! Once I start one of your books I demolish them in a couple of days. I am almost running out of your books to read so don’t think I can wait until 1st May for the release of The Good Father in Australia. I relate so well to your books because most have newborns in them & I am a midwife. Then I was blown away when CeeCee’s fugitive name is the same as my sister’s, Coryne Bailey (slightly different spelling)! I could really picture Cory’s birth from your description….I would absolutely LOVE to win a copy of The Good Father from you so I don’t have to wait even longer to get a copy & a print copy at that! Although I do love my e-reader, not so much when the battery dies just before I have finished a book however, I really love the look, feel & smell of a new book! I think the cover will be different over here too, the little girl with the angel wings is very cute though! Please choose me to receive a copy!! Love from your biggest fan in Australia, Lisa πŸ˜‰

I would love to win a copy of your book because I have loved all that I have read so far. Your books brought me and my grandmother closer together, giving us something to chat about and have coffee. I very rarely spent time with her as just thw two of us, until we disocvered a passion for your books. Now, we can spend hours chatting over coffee about your books and what we thought (always positive, of course!). I’ve also got exams coming up so am up to my ears in revision right now, so I would love to have a copy of your book to relax with on my breaks!

  36. Sharon on April 11, 2012 at 3:50 am

I’d love a copy of The Good Father as currently working my way through all your books since I first came across you whilst on holiday in Florida a couple of years ago. Just finished reading Brass Ring which has just been re-released in the UK and will be putting a review on my blog later today.

  37. Jacqueline Burke on April 11, 2012 at 3:51 am

Just finished ‘keeper of the light’- amazing! Read all your books in paperback that are available in uk and dont have a kindle- i know sob sob! Would love this as had to resort to buying a horrible murder book. Do you have any idea if kiss river will ever be published again, the new editions are 70 pounds on amazon and ive been stung by buying used copies before-yeuck they were minging!
    Have a nice day x

    • Diane Chamberlain on April 11, 2012 at 3:45 pm

Kiss River and the third in the series, Her Mother’s Shadow, will both be released in the UK and AU in early and mid 2013. At least that’s the latest info I have on them. Enjoy!

  38. Joely Pentlow on April 11, 2012 at 3:57 am

I have loved all the books I have read of yours and I expect this will be no different!

  39. Amy* on April 11, 2012 at 4:03 am

Since stumbling upon ‘The Lies We Told’ in a WHSmith book chart I have read most of your books. I simply can’t put them down. I recommend you to all my friends and family and have tweeted about your books also. I would love a copy of ‘The Good Father’ to be able to recommend to people and blog about.

  41. Hayley on April 11, 2012 at 5:02 am

Well. I don’t win anything, but never will if I don’t try. Hehe! Of course like all of these other good people I love your books. I have them on Kindle and I’ve never read an actual book since. I think it would be lovely to do it again. Gotta love the smell of a book. And what better than to be one of yours! I’m so impatient too. I’m finding I hard to find another author as good as you. You need to write quicker Diane =P *Fingers Crossed* xx

  42. Sheree Gillcrist on April 11, 2012 at 5:12 am

When I moved across the pond I brought all of your books with me as they all had become friends. Yours are the only books that I buy on the day of release.as they bring me so much pleasure and I always know how many more sleeps before your new book comes out. I would love to have a copy to read in my window seat with the sun and your words warming my soul.

  43. Donna on April 11, 2012 at 5:25 am

  49. Gillian on April 11, 2012 at 6:57 am

I’m working my way through all your books – have a stash of completed paperback ones and a collection built up on my new Kindle (in fact one of the things that pushed me to buy a Kindle was that I could read your out-of-print books that way!) I’d love to add The Good Father to my ever expanding collection!

  50. Amy Feld on April 11, 2012 at 6:59 am

I’ve read all your books, even the reallly old ones (thanks to Half.com). I write awesome reviews, especially for my favorite authors. Reading your books and other similar books is my salvation. I have a chronic illness and I can’t get out as much as I’d like, so books keep me engaged in life. I would really love an early copy.
PS- I bought one ticket for megamillions and every number on my card was one off from the winning numbers–how ironic. At some point karma will swing my way.

  51. Victoria Wade on April 11, 2012 at 7:20 am

I have read as many of your books as possible (thank you, public library). I would love to read this one, as I have always liked your stories and characters. Your books are thought provoking and really grab me while I’m reading.

Diane, I would love to have a copy of THE GOOD FATHER because I can’t live without your books! I have every single one that you have written and have read each of them at least twice, with KEEPER OF THE LIGHT marking a record 6 times. You are my all time favorite author and the only one that has their own ‘Diane Shelf’ in my home. I feel bad submitting my name when I see how many others are wanting a copy. Let me put it this way, if I don’t win I will be completely happy for those that do…and then I will be out the door on April 24 to buy my copy at Barnes And Noble (-:)

  54. Trish Simpson on April 11, 2012 at 7:52 am

I graduate the first week in may 2012 and would love for The Good Father to be my first book I read because I enjoy your writing and all the extraordinary characters that are involved in the story.
