The View from the Top

I stumbled across the photo below on my computer and had to share. Like me, my older brother has a thing for lighthouses. Last winter (or the winter before?), he decided to climb one of the lighthouses in New Jersey. There were a couple of young guys hanging around the base of the lighthouse, and he wondered what they were up to but didn’t think much about them as he made the climb to the top. Once out on the gallery, though, he knew exactly what they’d been up to and he snapped this shot. You’ll have to scroll down to see what he saw. It makes me smile.

Who could think of a lighthouse without thinking of our favorite books by D. C. The choice for my book club in January-although we had to cancel November for illness and now probably January for weather.
I have been off sick and with snow days–what a week…what weather for this time of the year…amazing…

    Ann loved the book too…
Brenda, you’re a great friend too…so glad you’re starting to feel better…with this bitter cold and snow, best to stay inside…everyone, our temps have been around 5 degrees with below zero windchills…lots of snow…our bitter cold temps and snow seem to find their way to Brenda’s hometown.

Diane it is time for your new years resolutions
The greatest invention in the 21st C is the iPhone. My opinion…and the ereader
Still need to get one of those. I plan to make big changes next year as I will finally be vested in a little retirement. Also want to write more letters

I am so thankful for your blog and for your friendship. You are a dear. It has also brought me one of the sweetest friends ever, Margo
Diane she sent me pictures of her family and she looks like a girl in her 20’s or 30’s. I look at her and think of a brunette Alice in wonderland. We share the love of books and
She is your biggest fan besides moi

I love this blog!! I feel like all of you are my friends and love chatting this way.
Margo, I brought home the book you recommended “I Can See You”. Have you finished reading it and is it good all the way to the end? It looks good.

  14. Diane Chamberlain on December 21, 2010 at 12:40 am

I just glanced at my front door and noticed Margo’s cardinal on the wall next to it…forgot I have that one hanging up too! It’s my favorite. I love that some of you “chat” with one another both on the blog and off.

January 1 I have to stop reading for pleasure and focus on work, so I just have a few days to cram everything in and I’m such a slow reader! Still loving Homer. I found some YouTube videos of him if you want to check them out. Hugs.

Hi Ann…I’m halfway into I CAN SEE YOU…I’m a slow reader like Diane but am particularly reading this slowly since there are so many characters…it’s still really, really good…thx to Brenda, we have another author to read with Karen Rose…I want to find all her books now.
Diane, I’m so glad you love the cardinal…he was quite a character with an attitude that I just had to capture with my watercolors…I told Brenda that she will one day own 1 of my paintings too…I love to paint and give them to people I really care about.
Homer is a one of a kind guy, isn’t he?…I went to the author’s website and watched the interview video with Gwen and Homer was in the spotlight too…Ann, since you’ve read the book you might enjoy ‘meeting him’ on Gwen Coopers web.
Happy Holidays everyone…Diane’s website, simply awesome!!

  18. Margo on December 21, 2010 at 9:06 pm

Brenda…I feel blessed to know you too and am very, very thankful for our friendship.
Ann, Homer is one of a kind…I have loved all my dogs throughout the years and now I can say I have a cat named Homer to add to the list. (-O:
