Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures

I’ve taken a tiny break from the blog as I train myself in using my new Blackberry, along with Outlook, Word and a few other torturous inventions designed to move me into the twenty-first century. So while I’m doing that, I thought I’d share this video John made for Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures, nature photography workshops he teaches along with two other photographers. John’s the workshop’s master of digital printing. I hope you enjoy it, and I’ll be back with a fresh blog post in a day or two.

Is John doing the cover for AFTER THE STORM??? Is Barefoot Contessa any connection to the television food show????

Brenda, publishers always do their own book covers. They rarely even listen to the author’s ideas, much less hire the author’s boyfriend to do the cover! And no, the Barefoot Contessa is the long-held nickname of one of the photographers, Margo Pinkerton, a name she was probably given before the current BC was born. lol.

Wow Diane…this is a fabulous video John made! What a gifted artist he is…I felt like I was ‘right there’! I’m familiar with John’s photos which are extraordinary but seeing these images come alive thru video is amazing! How lucky for the both of you to have each other…2 phenomenal artists to share ideas with! (-:

Tip-spray the trackball out with canned air every so often or it will stop working…
I have a nice fancy camera, loved taking pictures of my niece and nephew at the falls but it stopped advancing the film, I was so sad. It took beautiful pictures and it had to happen before Gunnar was born. My digital camera died the same day but my wonderful boyfriend got me a nice new one for my birthday.

Krysia, thanks for the Blackberry tip. I think I may master it around the time it goes obsolete. I hope Gunnar is continuing to do well and you and he are both getting some sleep!

    Diane,
We have gotten lots of positive comments on what John did with all our footage, along with our images and those of our students. I particularly like the way John did the image changes on the upbeat, rather than the more obvious downbeat.
Great job, John, and Diane, thanks for posting it on your site, too!
For those who are wondering, I was given the moniker The Barefoot Contessa back in 1970 by a friend who said I reminded him of Ava Gardner in that movie.
A BIG hug for you and John,
