Radio Interviews

I love doing radio interviews!

Both Before the Storm and The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes are full of meaty subjects for discussion, and of course I enjoy talking about my books, but that’s not why I love these interviews. I love them because I can do them without make-up, while relaxing on the recliner in the sunroom in my pjs, if I so desire. Better yet, I can listen to the radio station on my computer in the minutes prior to my interview.  That way, I get a feel for the host and I know what’s being talked about on the show. (Right now, I’m listening to a station in Connecticut and they’re saying  some people spotted UFOs over Waterbury last night. . . I go on the air in a few minutes, and I’m not sure how I’m going to tie Before the Storm to UFOs, but we’ll see.)

I particularly like the call-in shows. Next week, Thursday, July 24th, I’ll be on  the “Today’s Author” program on Blog Talk Radio, which is a station you can listen to on your computer, and you can call in to talk with me. I hope some of you will! I love talking to my readers on the air. It’s a 15 minute program starting at 8:30PM eastern time. The call-in number is 646-200-4071. I hope you’ll join me!

I go on the air for today’s interview in three minutes, and now they’re talking about how our world as we know it will collapse if the aliens land. This is going to be a hard act to follow!

How cool is this! I’ll try to dial-in next week Diane. Thanks for the heads-up. And, good luck with today’s interview. I’m sure you’ll do fine!

I forgot to add the “a” in my name above. LOL
Maybe I’m thinking I need to go out for a martini since it’s Friday. TGIF!

  3. Denise on July 18, 2008 at 2:34 pm

I’m sure you will find a way to conquer the aliens, Diane! Haha!

  4. Krysia on July 19, 2008 at 12:10 am

A martini sounds good right now. We are back in the hospital. Gunnar has 2 have surgury, he has pyloric stenosis. Poor guy is barely 3 weeks old. I will have 2 check out the radio show. Have a good weekend all.

  5. Diane Chamberlain on July 19, 2008 at 12:23 am

Oh no, Krysia! Poor little Gunnar and poor you. I’m sure this has been a very rocky few weeks. In my previous career as a medical social worker, I knew of several infants who had pyloric stenosis and the surgery worked like magic. I hope that’s the case with Gunnar.

  6. Ann on July 19, 2008 at 2:48 am

Krysia, I don’t know what pyloric stenosis is but I do hope that Gunnar’s surgery goes well! You have people that you have never met thinking of you and your baby. This blog is a wonderful thing.

Its the muscle at the bottom of your stomach that empties everything into the intestines. His is to big and causes him to projectile vomit after eating. The only plus is im able to get more of before the storm read.

  8. Denise on July 19, 2008 at 12:06 pm

Krysia, I hope little Gunnar recovers quickly!

  9. GIna on July 19, 2008 at 3:10 pm

My thoughts and prayers go out to you Krysia and Gunnar.

  10. Ann on July 20, 2008 at 12:21 am

Diane, I am not TOO computer literate especially when radio is involved. Do we just go to “Blog Talk Radio” to hear the show next week?
Krysia, when is Gunnar’s surgery? Please keep me posted!

  11. Krysia on July 20, 2008 at 3:12 pm

Well the surgery was yest and we are already home. he is back to his normal self. i am happy to be home, one more night sleeping in a chair wasn’t something i wanted. he is eating good with little problems.

Krysia, excellent news! What a relief.
Ann, I will check with blogtalkradio to make sure to get accurate info and post it here. I know they create a podcast from the interview in case you miss it, but hope you can hear it live.
Brenda, I’m not sure Before the Storm is out in England yet. Should be soon. It sounds like you’re having a great time. Enjoy every second!

  14. Gina on July 20, 2008 at 4:16 pm

Diane, how did your radio interview go the other day?

  15. Ann on July 20, 2008 at 7:29 pm

Diane, I will look forward to info on blog talk radio. I have gone to that site and think I might be able to figure it out when I have time but if you get instructions first I will be glad.
Krysia, what wonderful news about Gunnar!!!!

  16. Margo on July 21, 2008 at 8:08 am

Krysia, so glad the surgery turned out well and you and Gunner are both home now! Take care of both of you. Diane, I’m so excited about the radio show on Thursday. I will have Gary go to the site so we can listen to it…he is the computer literate one in our family, not me…however, if you do have more instructions that your passing onto Ann, I will share them with him. Thinking of you Brenda and wishing you a fabulous time in England!

Julie, congratulations! I just finished reading your touching memoir and it brought back many memories of my grandma’s house where we shared ‘reading time’…with wonderful smells coming from the kitchen. What a wonderful talent you have! I’d love to know more about the novel your working on.
