Mr and Mrs Santa Claus

Obviously, I’ve been taking a little holiday break from the blog! I’ll be back in full force after Christmas, though. I’ll leave you with my favorite Christmas picture. My goldens, Chapel and Ben, went to the Rainbow Bridge long ago, but they had good long lives and I’ll always treasure this picture of them.
I hope you and your families have a wonderful holiday season!

    Greetings from Miami Beach.
Diane-I would like to thank you for the BLOG-for bringing us together on this BLOG-your fans…for your being so down-to-earth and sharing your career with us.
I am in heaven since I went to the library today, enjoyed the beach, and am having a great vacation…
I am still quite tired, and I don’t thing rest is going to be an abundant part of my life until next summer. I will return home to the semester in high school and one week later, a new semester in the college.
Am looking forward to your new book…

Brenda, it’s my pleasure, believe me!
I’m so glad you’re getting some time off. You deserve it! Savor each moment.

Another delightful day sitting on the beach. I stayed up late last night reading…today is my mother’s birthday…however, she died at age 60…my age now…such a wonderful person…
Just finished cooking a fantastic C’mas dinner, so we could have left overs tomorrow…then back to the ocean. (I sit under an umbrella.)
Diane-I have read so many authors’ websites about BLOGS…stating that if they had time to BLOG, they should be writing. I even commented on a couple of those. They need to realize that the more contact they have with their readers, the better. I have enjoyed getting to know the others on this BLOG…I have rec. your books to so many people in my life-students, friends…those online with me…I have written columns about your books…When folks are too busy for those who read their books, they need to take another look. Believe me, I know BUSY…

What a wonderful picture!!!! Will Keeper and Jet pose for a shot like this?
Hope you are having a wonderful Christmas and will have a Happy New Year.
Brenda, I know that a few days of sunshine on the beach will bring you some much needed rest. Go for it!

Brenda, I understand what those other authors are saying. Keeping up with a blog DOES take time–as well as creative energy–away from writing, and it’s a decision every author has to make for her/himself. I think most authors feel as though they can’t share any of their writing unless it’s perfect. Clearly, I don’t feel that way! I’ve enjoyed blogging and interacting with my readers so much that I would miss it if I stopped. As long as y’all will put up with posts that are not destined to win any essay contests, I’ll keep blogging.
Ann, hmm. It hadn’t occurred to me to even TRY to get Keeper and Jet to pose this way. I’ll try to remember next year to ask them what they think of the idea, but I bet I can guess. . . .

Am enjoying this vacation. We leave Tuesday, the 1st, but I am finally, after the shopping, etc., getting some rest. We sit on the beach for hours…yesterday, we walked to shopping area and bought some t-shirts, etc…things for little ones. Had delicious Med. food-my favorite…I read a great book by Ann Brashares (The Last Summer…) Really great-her entry into adult novels I believe. Touching…
Today-back to the ocean. We have to be careful as the jelly fish and man-of-war are prevalent now.
How am I going to go back to freezing weather and two jobs? Don’t ask.
Hope all of you are enjoying the holidays with family and friends…
    Brenda
P.S. I am lazing and getting no writing done-did one column only so far.
