WIP: Coke and Peanuts

One of my characters in my work-in-progress drinks Coke and salted peanuts. Not having ever made this southern treat myself, I Googled it and found this video. I don’t think this guy is from the south, but he’s kinda cute. I swear, you can find anything on the Internet!

LOL! I’ve never heard of it!…too funny. Is your character girl or boy that indulges?

It’s actually Marcus, age 38, occupation firefighter, sober fifteen years. 🙂

That’s hilarious. My step dad was a southerner living in California and we often had coke in our peanuts as we went out on Sunday drives. 🙂

It does sound kind of yummy, actually. I may give it a try myself.

I wonder how peanuts would taste in my Starbucks coffee. Now that sounds pretty good!

I’ve seen people around here drink that. It doesn’t taste to bad but I am not a Coke drinker so I probably didn’t enjoy it like most.

Diane, sometimes for lunch I’ve had my Starbucks and enjoyed a nature valley sweet & salty nut bar with it…it’s full of salted peanuts and peanut butter and is absolutely yummy with strong coffee. I will admit that I haven’t tried dunking the nut bar IN the coffee tho.

    It’s a 50’s and 60’s thing…Barbara Mandrell even sings about peanuts in her Coke…I had it when I was growing up–loved it…
