Do You Need a Smile Today? For Fellow Dog Lovers

This is my FAVORITE online video clip. It makes me smile and also brings a tear to my eye because of the trust and joy in the dog’s face. The dancers are Carolyn Scott and her gorgeous golden, Rookie. When you get to this page, click the link to “download the wonderful video of Carolyn and Rookie”, and be sure your sound is turned on. Enjoy! doggie dance

I LOVED this Diane!!…the love and loyalty between Carolyn and Rookie is so evident…my Leo would dance with me, but not quite like this!!…this is just an amazing video and I think they should be on ‘Letterman’…thx for giving me a huge smile this a.m…….(-:

I sent this to my little sister, she’s 12. Her response was “Do you just visit random websites all day?” My response was sometimes (it gets boring when you have no human contact except at work, my fiance is gone 4 days a week). She also said I was a freak and might have rabbies. But I finally got her to watch it and she thought it was cool. I enjoyed it also, made me smile, despite the song (my mom played that record all the time while I was growing up, then my younger sister did after that, makes me cringe). Anyways have a nice day!

Hi Krysia…I’m not a ‘websurfer’ but I have to admit I look at Diane’s website everyday, not because I’m bored but because I love how she writes and what she writes in her blogs…she always gives me something to think about and not only did she put a smile on my face this a.m. with the doggie video, but she makes me smile everytime she writes…she is by far my favorite author and has been for quite some time…I agree with Diane, your sis made me lol…..(-:

I don’t read websites either, but when I de-stress with Diane’s blog and/or her books…She is indeed one of the best…I love the books and am reading them again this summer.

I loved the video clip!!! That is amazing. Carolyn and Rookie are great. Thanks!

Brenda, I read Diane’s books over and over too…SUMMER’S CHILD is a wonderful summer choice!!…I remember that book totally taking me off guard and I was shocked at the surprise ending…tho I know the ending, I still read it almost every summer because Diane works her magic with this one and I lose myself at the beach…(-:

i feel obliged to say that margo is not related to me, nor is she being paid for all the kind things she’s saying about me! LOL.
i’m glad you guys enjoyed this doggie video. i’m going to see if i can teach one of my dogs (jet-keeper is too laid back, ie lazy) some of these moves.

I agree my sister is a hoot. She takes after me in every way. There is a pretty big age gap and people always said we’d never be close. I made sure we were.
I’d love to teach my dog some of this but I’d love it more if i could get him to stop jumping on me. He split my mouth and lip open last night. Stupid dog.
Anyways, Laters have a nice day!

Didn’t know where to post this comment–b?ut was at the library today checking on a MEMOIR (I usually buy all of my books but this one I can’t find…) anyway the librarian and I were talking about our favorite authors-yours truly-D. Chamberlain…isn’t if nice that your name discussed so favorably?

  11. Anonymous on July 24, 2006 at 5:50 pm

yes it is. i’m certain it’s also discussed unfavorably, but no one tells me about it. 🙂
today i received a snail mail letter in which the reader told me all about the books of mine she loves and why she loves them–it was very nice–but then she said she really doesn’t like my books with continuing characters (like the KEEPER trilogy). i found that very interesting. i usually only hear from the people who love trilogies or sequels, so now i’m wondering how many people want “just one story at a time.”

“so now i’m wondering how many people want “just one story at a time.”
Well, since you asked:) I am one who usually likes one story at a time. I am reading the third in your trilogy now because the trilogy was very highly recommended to me after mentioned in a couple of Yahoo groups how much I LOVED The Secret Life Of CeeCee Wilkes. I want to read all your books and didn’t know where to start. The only reason I haven’t gulped it down quickly is the war news lately. I am glued to Fox and CNN. I also loved Adriana Trigiani’s Big Stone Gap trilogy. I am a BSG,VA native so that series is very special to me. I also like to read Patterson’s Alex Cross series.

aha! so there are more “one story at a time” lovers out there. how is the trilogy working for you, then?
i loved adriana trigiani’s LUCIA LUCIA, but haven’t read her others yet. which do you recommend i read next?

  14. Lorene on July 24, 2006 at 7:55 pm

I love the trilogy! I am just not gulping down Her Mother’s Shadow because I am so interested in the news. If you liked Lucia Lucia, you would also like The Queen Of The Big Time but if you want a laugh, read Big Stone Gap. I didn’t care for ROCOCO but I think she is working on getting it made in a TV series and I think I would like that. That’s one I would rather watch than read:)
By the way, I think CeeCee would make a wonderful movie. Anything happening toward that end?

I get the same way about the news. i have cnn on first thing every morning and last thing at night and a whole bunch of times in between. i’ve been that way since 9/11, when i arrived at a morning bookgroup discussion of my latest book, only to learn what had happened. needless to say, we forgot about the book and all rushed to a nearby restaurant where they had a TV. now i HAVE to know what’s going on.
thanks for the trigiani recommendations. i’ll check them out.
CEECEE had some hollywood interest before it was a book (when it was a proposal), but nada. i think the book is quite different and wish they’d take another look at it, but i don’t think they work that way!
