Outline Finished. . . For Now

Wow, these cool new post it index cards sure do make my outlines neater! Kind of boring, compared to my old cut and paste method (see a picture of me with one of my old outlines on my gallery page). I have to say, this method is far more manageable!

So I’m now ready to begin writing. I know that, somewhere around the middle of this long strip of cards, the story will begin to change. It always does, as the characters start pushing me around. That’s okay. It’s great, actually. I look forward to the day the story becomes a collaborative effort between those unruly fictional people and myself. I’ll let you know when that happens. Until then, I’m sticking with my nice, neat, orderly strip of cards.

These new post-it cards must save you alot of time from the old paste it method!…I think Keeper and Jet are in ‘awe’ of the system Diane (lol).
I can’t wait to hear a tiny bit about the story Diane…right now we only know that there’s Rebecca and Maya…but I know you will surprise us with bits of info when the time is right. (-O:

You found the cards! Yay! Aren’t they great? I told Sarah about them too. I think 3M should send me a bit ol’ box of ’em!

Brenda, I LOVE the cards! It’s amazing how excited we can get about a few office supplies, isn’t it? I love that just-starting-a-new-book trip to the office supply store.

Diane, I think this would be another great photo enlarged for your office. (-O:

    Diane here is a question:
Do you control your characters or do your characters control you? I get the feeling that they already exist and they use you as a conduit to come out.

I love your strategies-I know I keep telling you that. This has been quite a week. Although I wanted H. Clinton to win…I am happy with the way things have turned out…I (like Margo) see a renewal in America-however…I don’t remember this since Kennedy was elected (I was in high school, and Margo was much younger…) It has been amazing.
Our new semester started at the high school and at the college (I am only doing one college…this semester)…I am going to use the new type notecards…I love it…

Ronnie, I start out controlling them. Gradually, they take over. I love when that happens!
I’m off to Norfolk, VA in the morning to visit my stepdaughter, Alana, and do a booksigning on Saturday. If you’re in the area, stop by the Barnes and Noble (exact location is on my website homepage) between 2 and 4 to say “hi”!
